Beating Low Energy Levels

How often do you wake up without energy? Do you find yourself collapsing onto the sofa at the end of the day? If yes, then read on. I have always had low energy. After nine years of research, and trying every crazy treatment out there, (eating bee venom anyone?), I can now share with you what has helped me.

Start every day with a cup of warm water and lemon juice. This wakes up your digestive system. Next you need to skin brush, before jumping in the shower. Use a body brush made from a natural source. Start brushing from the soles of your feet, up towards your heart. Brush your stomach in a circular motion and carry on till you get to your chest. Then from your shoulders brush down towards your heart. Finally brush your hands and all the way up each arm. You should feel a tingling sensation all over your body. Doing this daily, boosts your blood circulation, rejuvenates and stimulates the lymph and best of all fights cellulite. Now jump in the shower, and for the last 30 seconds switch to cold, scream if you want to. Hydrotherapy boosts your immune system,so you won't gets so many infections that drain you every year.

To improve your energy, you need to improve your diet. Always have three meals a day, with two snacks, to stabilise your blood sugar level. Remember, have breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a pauper. Breakfast is so important as your body has been without food for at least eight hours. I like to have organic porridge with half Soya milk and half water. I use half a tsp of honey to sweeten, and add either banana or blue berries (great antioxidant). This slow energy release dish keeps me full up till lunch. Try to use as much organic produce as possible. Start to include freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. Experiment with whatever fruit and vegetables look freshest. Make sure you drink it straight away as its starts to loose its nutritional value immediately. Juices cleanse and regenerate the entire system. I drink carrot juice daily. It gives me energy and gets rid of my eczema . Drink at least two litres of water daily and include a multi vitamin.

Exercise is so important. Aerobic exercise such as brisk walking or cycling releases endorphins (happy hormones), which improved your mood and energy. I go for a brisk walk for thirty minutes on the beach everyday. It’s nice to do it barefoot, as the feeling of the sand and sea water beneath your feet keeps you grounded with nature. If you are not used to exercise, start slowly and build up to thirty minutes.

The biggest enemy to your body is STRESS. It drastically depletes energy levels. You need to find ways that help you to relax. Whatever works for you, yoga, meditation, classical music, just keep trying different things until you find the right one. Massage is what helps me unwind. About a year ago I found a massage therapist called Carol. She does home visits and custom blends aromatherapy oils for your specific ailments. After a full body massage, my muscles unwind and I am left in a deep state of relaxation. A happy body is a happy mind.

For me, acupuncture is the treatment that caused the biggest improvement in my energy levels. After every treatment I bound out the door ready to take on a new day. Make sure you go by recommendation when finding a therapist.

Good quality sleep is vital. Try to get at least eight hours sleep a night. I put a drop of lavender oil onto my pillow to help me drift into a deep slumber. If you live on a complex, noise can sometimes be a problem. Invest in some earplugs, they are my new best friend. If you are light sensitive make sure your snooze is uninterrupted with an eye mask. There are some really pretty ones on the market now.

Last but not least, the biggest energiser of all, is to be happy with yourself. Laugh, have fun, live! Do things daily that you enjoy, or try something new and experience different things. Look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself how beautiful you are. Tell yourself how much you love your life. Even if you don’t feel like it, the mind is a powerful tool.

YOU ARE AMAZING, So tell yourself this. Your body will thank you.
